Whether it be serving in the military or in his own backyard at church, serving has always been a passion for Josh and his family. Josh is dedicated to serving with consistency and attention to detail in all capacities. He joined the Marine Corps in 1985 and was activated for Desert Storm in 1991 until he was honorably discharged in 1993. His dedication to the local youth has led him to volunteer in many different capacities, including with his children’s PTA boards for over 20 years, coaching youth basketball, baseball, volleyball and football, as well as serving as a Boy Scout Master and Eagle Scout Mentor.
As a lifelong conservative activist, Josh has deep roots in the Harris County Republican Party. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Harris County Republican Party and was elected as a Trustee on the Harris County Department of Education Board in 2018, where he served as Board President. Josh has served the Party in many roles, including as the Senate District 15 Committeeman from 2004-2012; HCRP Treasurer from 2009-2014; as well as an Election Judge from 1997-2021, among many other charges.
He and his wife Joan consider HD 138 their home; it’s where they have been happily married for over 25 years, raised their five children, and where they are watching their two grandchildren grow. They are active members in their church, Living Word Church of the Nazarene, where Josh has served for over 20 years on the church board and as chairman and treasurer. Josh began his own tax compliance business in 1993 and has been a Licensed Tax Professional through the IRS since 2001. In his free time, Josh enjoys running in marathons, half marathons, and singing with the Dignity Gospel Quartet.
